Marble Mayne Recruitment is delighted to be working with a progressive Jewish movement to recruit a part-time Finance Officer into its busy and thriving finance team.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation, which was formed following the merger of several previously separate organisations into one unified movement in 2025. While now operating as a single movement, it continues to encompass multiple entities, creating a varied, complex and interesting financial environment.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Finance Officer or Senior Finance Officer with strong bookkeeping skills, some management accounting experience and an interest in working within a values-led organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support financial operations across four entities within the charity, with a significant focus on leading the day-to-day finances of the organisation's children's nursery.
This combines hands-on bookkeeping with business partnering, particularly building a strong working relationship with the nursery Headteacher and supporting the nursery's financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and banking activities.
• Taking ownership of the nursery's financial administration, including invoicing, income collection and debtor management.
• Managing complex nursery billing arrangements involving multiple fee types and charging structures.
• Acting as a key finance contact for the nursery Headteacher and parents, responding to financial queries and providing practical support.
• Supporting financial administration and supplier payments across the movement's other entities.
• Assisting with management accounts, financial reporting and maintaining effective financial controls.
• Contributing to improvements in financial processes and systems.
About You
We are looking for someone with a solid bookkeeping background who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and working within a collaborative finance team.
Ideally, you will bring:
• Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally at Finance Officer or Senior Finance Officer level.
• Experience across ledgers, reconciliations, invoicing and debtor management.
• Some exposure to management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
• Ideally, full AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, although relevant experience will also be considered.
• Good Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience within a charity, education, nursery or similarly complex environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, welcoming and busy finance team within a values-led organisation undergoing an exciting period of development.
Benefits include generous annual leave, pension contributions, life insurance, healthcare benefits and opportunities for professional development. The role offers a flexible three-day working week, ideally with two days onsite in North London.
The organisation warmly welcomes applications from people of all faiths and backgrounds, with a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so early expressions of interest are encouraged.
